The Niger Delta in Nigeria is one of the world’s most oil-polluted regions. After decades of extraction by oil giants, the pollution from oil spills has been catastrophic for the environment and extremely serious for the health and livelihoods of people living there. But local people along with environmental activists and London lawyers have teamed up to find solutions to clean up the damage, restore the Niger Delta’s ecosystem, and make those responsible pay.
