The struggle for the dwindling resource of fresh water is a reality across the globe. On the Palestinian West Bank, the fight for land is also about water as Israeli colonists and soldiers try to stop Palestinians from accessing wells. In Ukraine, Russian forces are using water as a weapon. And the Aral Sea, between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, has largely disappeared due to intensive irrigation.
