Greece: The Sudanese tragedy at the gates of Europe

For several months, Greece has seen a growing number of Sudanese migrants. These people are fleeing an extremely violent war that has seen massacres, rapes and huge displacement. The conflict was exacerbated recently by the capture of El Fasher by the militia of General Hemeti. For many Sudanese people, they hope Greece is the first step towards protection, but it's often in vain. In Athens, a Greek-Sudanese organisation is fighting to help these people to get asylum. They all tell the same distressing story, that of forgotten people forced into exile.
