Outsourcing the right to asylum?

Outsourcing asylum seekers to a third country, where their applications would be processed: this idea has appealed to the United Kingdom and Italy, which have signed agreements on this matter with Rwanda and Albania, respectively. These agreements have been blocked several times by national and European courts, but they are of interest to many members of the European Union who want to curb irregular immigration. What problems do these agreements pose in terms of human rights? Are they truly effective?
