Virginie Despentes left the Paris literary scene to live her queer life in free-spirited Barcelona. In Spain, the writer lives with her lover, the Barcelona philosopher Beatriz Preciado. In her 2010 novel Apocalypse Baby, she blasted heteronormativity with napalm and drew us into the insurrectionary Catalan margins and pro-sex feminist circles.
