Ukrainian rail staff have evacuated more than four million people from war zones. They transport people, weapons, goods, and supplies across Ukraine. The railway is the lifeline of the country. In Ukraine, the small army of railway hostesses are thought of as war heroes, though they simply refer to themselves as Iron People.
