on "The Seed of the Sacred Fig"8 min
Available until 31/05/2026
In “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof tells the story of an affluent Iranian family whose female members join protests against mandatory headscarves. Blending recent archival footage with intimate fiction, the now-exiled Rasoulof crafts a compelling portrait of resistance in the Islamic Republic. Filmed secretly in Iran, it is a courageous reflection of defiance amidst repression.
