The Berlin Quadriga
A Franco-German Affair52 min
Available from 22/06/2026
On the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, a statue representing the goddess of peace on a chariot carries with it the turbulent history between France and Germany. The Quadriga was sculpted by Johann Gottfried Schadow in 1793, at the request of the Prussian king. Its story mirrors the history of France, Germany, and Europe.
