The Bhopal disaster dates back to 1984. A leak of more than 40 tonnes of toxic gases from the Union Carbide factory killed up to 25,000 people and maimed many others. 150,000 survivors suffer from chronic diseases and more than 574,000 people have been exposed to these gases. But as the chemicals slowly seep into drinking water, a new chapter of the tragedy is being written.
