Timothy Garton Ash is one of the most renowned European historians, professor at St. Antony's college in Oxford, and in Stanford. Most of his work as a historian (and also as a journalist) concerns the contemporary history of Europe, with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe, where he travelled extensively before and after the fall of communism. In our interview, Garton Ash analyses Europe's situation between Putin's wars and Donald Trump, who is "treating the EU as an enemy".
