The volcanic region of the Phlegrean Fields, near Naples, is experiencing a resurgence in seismic activity: Earthquakes are becoming more frequent and intense, and the earth's crust has risen by a metre, threatening to fracture. The situation is worrying the millions of inhabitants of the region, especially those living in the Gulf of Pozzuoli, right next to the super volcano.
