K-Bass: The Korean Club Underground11 min
Available until 22/06/2029
In Seoul’s clubs, a musical movement is bridging the gap between the underground scene and the all-powerful Korean pop industry: K-bass. Influenced by British club music, it fuses K-pop with the sounds of grime, garage and jungle. This hybrid sound is driven by a scene that has developed around Seoul Community Radio (SCR), an independent media outlet based in the alternative neighbourhood of Itaewon.
Tracks followed some of the main protagonists of the Seoul underground scene as they came to France's Nuit Sonores electronic festival.
