On 30th September, the UK closed its last coal-fired power plany in Ratcliffe-on-Soar. The site will be transformed into a technology hub for carbon-free energy. This closure symbolises the commitment made by the UK government to complely decarbonise its electricity by 2030, with the ultimate aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
