The Thousand Faces of Alexej von Jawlensky
In the early twentieth century, Russian painter Alexej von Jawlensky made a name for himself by painting faces. Settling in Germany he became involved in the burgeoning avant-garde scene of Munich, rubbing shoulders with Kandinsky with whom he founded der Blaue Reiter (the Blue Rider) group of artists. A documentary about an important expressionist artist who was fascinated by the human face.
