In 1889. Belgian engineer Gustave Verniory was at the beginning of his professional career when he was appointed to build a railway line through the natural landscape of Araucania in Chile. The indigenous Mapuche region had only recently been annexed by the Latin American republic. Ignacio Agüero's documentary film is inspired by Verniory’s memoirs.
