The Death of Marat is a story of perspective. Depending on where one stands, one does not see the same thing. David, for example, only saw Marat. In the 19th century, it was Charlotte that was seen. And in the 20th century, in the works of Munch or Hldricka, it was a furious couple. Or a woman in a bathtub. Or Bin Laden... David was right after all, nothing is more easily manipulated than an image.
