What is the essence of art? How does it arise, where does it emerge from, in which ways does it express and display itself? Generally, the act of artistic creation is a secluded and intimate procedure. The first virtual reality production by Jonathan Meese and his mother Brigitte is a journey into the heart of the dictatorship of art, where spectators are able to closely witness the artist’s inspiration and working process.
In the artist’s virtual studio, the spectators experience in 3D the creation of a 360-degree “Gesamtkunstwerk” of the future: The sleeping artist is visited by wonderful, inspiring dreams. His mother enters, brings him coffee and urges him to paint.
