Nous avons choisi <em>Fen\u00eatre sur cour<\/em>, qui fut distribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque par Paramount, histoire de faire un clin d\u2019\u0153il \u00e0 la compagnie rivale et de souhaiter aux deux majors un bon anniversaire.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fen\u00eatre sur cour<\/em> (<em>Rear Window<\/em>, 1954) d&rsquo;Alfred Hitchcock avec James Stewart et Grace Kelly et l\u2019un des films les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres, les plus g\u00e9niaux et les plus populaire du grand cin\u00e9aste anglais et de sa p\u00e9riode hollywoodienne.<\/p>\n<p>Un photographe immobilis\u00e9 dans son appartement de Greenwich Village, la jambe fractur\u00e9e apr\u00e8s un accident, passe ses journ\u00e9es \u00e0 observer au t\u00e9l\u00e9objectif les habitants de l&rsquo;immeuble d&rsquo;en face. Le comportement d&rsquo;un de ses voisins \u00e9veille ses soup\u00e7ons et il a bient\u00f4t la certitude d&rsquo;avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moin d&rsquo;un assassinat.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fen\u00eatre sur cour<\/em> marque l&rsquo;aboutissement des recherches d&rsquo;Hitchcock sur le huis clos, \u00ab\u00a0la concentration th\u00e9\u00e2trale\u00a0\u00bb, apr\u00e8s <em>La Corde<\/em> (<em>Rope<\/em>, 1948) tourn\u00e9 en plan-s\u00e9quence dans un d\u00e9cor unique et <em>Le crime \u00e9tait presque parfait<\/em> (<em>Dial M for Murder<\/em>, 1954), dans lequel le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 3D (on parlait encore \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque de \u00ab\u00a0relief\u00a0\u00bb) \u00e9tait le moyen paradoxal d\u2019exacerber la dimension th\u00e9\u00e2trale de son film avec un jeu permanent sur la profondeur de champ, amplifi\u00e9e dans le dessein de recr\u00e9er l&rsquo;espace sc\u00e9nique des planches. Ici l&rsquo;action est concentr\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;espace autarcique d&rsquo;une cour d&rsquo;immeuble vu d&rsquo;un petit appartement, le tout reconstitu\u00e9 en studio avec un soin maniaque. Le film est c\u00e9l\u00e8bre parce qu&rsquo;il explicite le voyeurisme ontologique du spectacle cin\u00e9matographique. Dans <em>Fen\u00eatre sur cour<\/em>, sans doute le plus parfait des films \u00e0 suspense du cin\u00e9aste, une perversion cache une n\u00e9vrose. La mauvaise pulsion du personnage interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par James Stewart est motiv\u00e9e par son d\u00e9s\u0153uvrement, son impuissance temporaire, mais constitue aussi un d\u00e9rivatif \u00e0 l&rsquo;angoisse du mariage (sa fianc\u00e9e Grace Kelly veut lui mettre la corde au cou). Il n&rsquo;est pas innocent que le spectacle secret offert par les voisins propose diverses d\u00e9clinaisons, grotesques, path\u00e9tiques, ali\u00e9nantes de la conjugalit\u00e9, et que le meurtrier a tu\u00e9 son \u00e9pouse.
