En cinq films, dont <em>Double destin\u00e9e<\/em>, <em>La D\u00e9esse agenouill\u00e9e <\/em>et <em>Mains criminelles<\/em>, ARTE.tv propose de d\u00e9couvrir de l&rsquo;\u0153uvre de Roberto Gavald\u00f3n (1909-1986), peintre des passions et un des pionniers de l&rsquo;\u00e2ge d&rsquo;or du cin\u00e9ma mexicain.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Double Destin\u00e9e <\/em>(<em>La otra<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Double Destin\u00e9e, <\/em><\/strong><strong>r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en 1946 par Roberto Gavald\u00f3n, s\u2019impose comme le chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre de son auteur, et l\u2019un des titres les plus remarquables de l\u2019\u00e2ge d\u2019or du cin\u00e9ma mexicain. Somptueusement \u00e9clair\u00e9 et mis en sc\u00e8ne, <em>Double Destin\u00e9e<\/em> baigne dans une esth\u00e9tique urbaine et nocturne, et dans une atmosph\u00e8re onirique. Ce film noir se pr\u00e9sente comme un m\u00e9lodrame criminel ou un thriller psychologique. Dans <em>Double Destin\u00e9e<\/em>, une modeste employ\u00e9e assassine sa s\u0153ur jumelle, une riche bourgeoise r\u00e9cemment devenue veuve, pour prendre sa place. Cette usurpation d\u2019identit\u00e9 aura des cons\u00e9quences tragiques. Gavald\u00f3n offre \u00e0 Dolores Del Rio un double r\u00f4le o\u00f9 elle peut exprimer sans aucun manich\u00e9isme les conflits moraux d\u2019une h\u00e9ro\u00efne tourment\u00e9e par la jalousie et l\u2019ambition sociale. Ce magnifique portrait de femme est l\u2019adaptation d\u2019un roman de Rian James qui sera une nouvelle fois port\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran en 1964, aux Etats-Unis : <em>La mort frappe trois fois<\/em> (<em>Dead Ringer<\/em>) de Paul Henried, avec Bette Davis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>La D\u00e9esse agenouill\u00e9e <\/em><\/strong><strong>(<em>La diosa arrodillada<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer son anniversaire de mariage, Antonio, un riche aristocrate qui est \u00e9galement ing\u00e9nieur chimiste, organise une f\u00eate au cours de laquelle il offre \u00e0 son \u00e9pouse, Elena, la statue d\u2019une femme nue agenouill\u00e9e. Le mod\u00e8le se trouve \u00eatre sa ma\u00eetresse Raquel, \u00e0 laquelle il voue une passion sans limite. Ce sublime m\u00e9lodrame, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en 1947 par Roberto Gavald\u00f3n, propose l\u2019\u00e9tude d\u2019une obsession d\u00e9vorante teint\u00e9e de f\u00e9tichisme, qui n\u2019est pas sans annoncer <em>Tourments <\/em>(<em>El<\/em>), le chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre mexicain de Luis Bu\u00f1uel. Les deux films poss\u00e8dent en commun l\u2019acteur Arturo de C\u00f3rdova, qui a r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e9corn\u00e9 son image de s\u00e9ducteur en interpr\u00e9tant des personnages n\u00e9vros\u00e9s, rendus fous par le d\u00e9sir sexuel et des pulsions inassouvies. Il \u00e9mane du film et de son couple vedette une sensualit\u00e9 extraordinaire. Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de C\u00f3rdova, Maria Felix rayonne de beaut\u00e9 et de myst\u00e8re, v\u00e9ritable incarnation de l\u2019\u00e9rotisme f\u00e9minin et de son pouvoir sur les hommes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Mains criminelles<\/em><\/strong><strong> (<em>En la palma de tu mano<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Le charlatan Karin se fait passer pour un voyant pour escroquer les clientes d\u2019un institut de beaut\u00e9 dans lequel travaille sa compagne, qui est \u00e9galement sa complice. Il tente de faire chanter une jeune veuve que le couple soup\u00e7onne d\u2019avoir tu\u00e9 son richissime mari. Roberto Gavald\u00f3n propose avec <em>Mains criminelles<\/em>, qu\u2019il r\u00e9alise en 1951, sa propre version du film noir hollywoodien, dans l\u2019esprit d\u2019<em>Assurance sur la mort<\/em>. Le r\u00e9sultat n\u2019a pas \u00e0 rougir devant ses mod\u00e8les. Comme dans les classiques am\u00e9ricains, l\u2019influence de l\u2019expressionnisme s\u2019av\u00e8re \u00e9vidente. Les jeux d\u2019ombre et de lumi\u00e8re illustrent l\u2019ambivalence des protagonistes, tandis que les d\u00e9cors \u00e9crasants symbolisent le poids du destin. Karin est l\u2019un des personnages les plus complexes interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s par Arturo de C\u00f3rdova.
