Il y est question de pathologie sexuelle, mais c\u2019est la qu\u00eate de libert\u00e9 d\u2019une femme marqu\u00e9e, victime de la violence des hommes et de l\u2019hypocrisie de toute une ville, qui constitue le v\u00e9ritable sujet de <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em>, titre banal pour un film qui l\u2019est beaucoup moins. Le titre original, <em>The Naked Kiss<\/em>, d\u00e9signe le baiser d\u2019un pervers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuller y retrouve Stanley Cortez, le g\u00e9nial directeur de la photographie de son film pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em> est c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour sa s\u00e9quence inaugurale o\u00f9 Constance Towers perd sa perruque lors d\u2019une violente dispute avec son prox\u00e9n\u00e8te et exhibe un cr\u00e2ne totalement chauve. La s\u00e9quence est film\u00e9e cam\u00e9ra \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9paule et alterne les plans subjectifs et les gros plans du visage enrag\u00e9 de Constance Towers, qui inflige une racl\u00e9e \u00e0 son mac sur une musique jazzy stridente, premier pas dans son chemin vers la libert\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9part en fanfare, typique du style baroque de Fuller, la suite est loin de d\u00e9cevoir et ne respecte aucune des conventions du cin\u00e9ma policier. Aucun personnage, \u00e0 commencer par l\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne, n\u2019est \u00e9crit de mani\u00e8re conventionnelle. Le spectateur est constamment surpris, d\u00e9stabilis\u00e9. Fuller t\u00e9moigne d\u2019une empathie extraordinaire pour cette femme qui souhaite tirer un trait sur ses anciennes activit\u00e9s de prostitu\u00e9e, en d\u00e9barquant dans une petite ville sans histoire. Devenue infirmi\u00e8re dans une institution pour enfant handicap\u00e9s, elle croit rencontrer le prince charmant en la personne d\u2019un philanthrope local, avant de d\u00e9couvrir le terrifiant secret de son fianc\u00e9. <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em>\u00a0ose aborder de front le sujet de la p\u00e9dophilie et d\u00e9livre une critique f\u00e9roce de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, son conformisme et son puritanisme. Constance Towers, actrice apparue chez Ford (<em>Les Cavaliers<\/em>, <em>Le Sergent noir<\/em>) est formidable dans le r\u00f4le de Kelly, femme courageuse et intelligence dont l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9 morale est soumise \u00e0 rude \u00e9preuve. Le film fait preuve d\u2019une audace presque suicidaire. Ce sera pourtant un succ\u00e8s mais Fuller, grug\u00e9 par ses producteurs, ne tirera aucun avantage, ni financier ni artistique, de cette nouvelle r\u00e9ussite. <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em> marquera au contraire la rupture entre Fuller et les studios hollywoodiens, et entra\u00eenera le premier exil du cin\u00e9aste en Europe. Fuller ne tournera pratiquement rien pendant seize ans, \u00e0 l\u2019exception d\u2019un film d\u2019aventure charcut\u00e9 par ses producteurs au Mexique avec Burt Reynolds (<em>Caine<\/em>, 1970) et d\u2019un t\u00e9l\u00e9film allemand exploit\u00e9 en salles dans certains pays (<em>Un pigeon mort dans Beethoven Strasse, 1972<\/em>). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A l\u2019instar de Kelly, l\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne de <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em>, les r\u00eaves de Fuller furent bris\u00e9s et il ne parvint plus \u00e0 vivre et travailler normalement aux \u00c9tats-Unis, chass\u00e9 par une industrie devenue r\u00e9fractaire \u00e0 son ind\u00e9pendance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Shock Corridor<\/em><\/strong><strong> et <em>Police sp\u00e9ciale<\/em> sont disponibles \u00e0 la vente en Blu-ray, \u00e9dit\u00e9s par Wild Side Vid\u00e9o.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un an apr\u00e8s son chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre Shock Corridor (1963), Samuel Fuller signe son long m\u00e9trage le plus \u00e9trange, avec une ancienne\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":116,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[9],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.8 -
