No\u00e9, c\u2019est le cin\u00e9aste qu\u2019une certaine critique officielle adore d\u00e9tester, le garnement du cin\u00e9ma fran\u00e7ais qui prend un malin plaisir \u00e0 provoquer non seulement par ses images chocs mais par sa conception m\u00eame du cin\u00e9ma. Chaque nouveau projet implique des m\u00e9thodes de tournage qui bousculent les habitudes et les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s. <em>Climax<\/em> ne d\u00e9roge pas \u00e0 la r\u00e8gle. Le film a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9, tourn\u00e9 et finalis\u00e9 en quelques mois \u00e0 peine, dans un d\u00e9sir de cin\u00e9ma qui refuse les pesanteurs de la production actuelle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Climax<\/em> a \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9 pour \u00e9chapper \u00e0 ces contingences de financement et de temps : l\u2019action du film est concentr\u00e9e dans un lieu unique, et la mise en sc\u00e8ne est principalement constitu\u00e9e de plans s\u00e9quences. Nous sommes dans un pensionnat d\u00e9saffect\u00e9 reconverti en local pour stages de danse, dans une for\u00eat, un hiver du milieu des ann\u00e9es 90. Ce grand b\u00e2timent et l\u2019\u00e9poque, propices \u00e0 l\u2019isolement complet des protagonistes \u2013 pas de t\u00e9l\u00e9phones portables \u2013 va devenir le th\u00e9\u00e2tre d\u2019un ballet euphorique puis d\u2019un d\u00e9chainement de violence et de folie, dans la grande tradition d\u2019un certain cin\u00e9ma fantastique europ\u00e9en : <em>Suspiria <\/em>de Dario Argento ou <em>Bloody Bird<\/em> de Michele Soavi par exemple. Ici la menace n\u2019est pas ext\u00e9rieure mais vient du groupe lui-m\u00eame, constitu\u00e9 de filles et de gar\u00e7ons d\u2019origines diverses, dont les profils sont d\u2019abord expos\u00e9s dans une s\u00e9quence pr\u00e9-g\u00e9n\u00e9rique, puis d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s au gr\u00e9 du d\u00e9roulement de l\u2019action. Le LSD vers\u00e9 dans la sangria lors d\u2019une f\u00eate ressemble \u00e0 un gimmick blagueur qui remplacerait le sc\u00e9nario traditionnel, absent chez No\u00e9. Un traitement de quelques pages suffit \u00e0 enclencher le tournage. Beaucoup de choses s\u2019inventent directement sur le plateau : dialogues improvis\u00e9s, battle entre danseurs\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No\u00e9 ne d\u00e9roge pas \u00e0 son nihilisme habituel en observant une communaut\u00e9 en vase clos pour mieux en d\u00e9montrer l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9. La drogue n\u2019est qu\u2019un pr\u00e9texte pour enregistrer l\u2019an\u00e9antissement d\u2019un groupe rong\u00e9 de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur par la violence, la parano\u00efa, les mauvaises pulsions et les instincts les plus vils. Gaspar No\u00e9 imagine une fiction du d\u00e9r\u00e8glement et observe la mont\u00e9e progressive du chaos. Le film est objectif et se refuse aux effets psych\u00e9d\u00e9liques. <em>Climax<\/em> est une com\u00e9die musicale, un documentaire sur les nouvelles danses acrobatiques telles le voguing, le krump ou le wa<\/strong><strong>cking qui se transforme peu \u00e0 peu en film d\u2019horreur. La mise en sc\u00e8ne de Gaspar No\u00e9, entre tour de grand huit, train fant\u00f4me, uppercuts visuels, slogans et g\u00e9n\u00e9riques aux interventions fac\u00e9tieuses, propose une approche ludique de l\u2019avant-garde et de l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation transpos\u00e9e dans l\u2019univers du cin\u00e9ma bis. Il faut lui reconna\u00eetre un talent extraordinaire pour composer des images renversantes, dans tous les sens du terme.
