{"id":22138,"date":"2018-05-10T15:36:48","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T14:36:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/?p=22138"},"modified":"2018-05-10T15:36:48","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T14:36:48","slug":"cannes-2018-jour-2-ames-mortes-de-wang-bing-seance-speciale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/2018\/05\/10\/cannes-2018-jour-2-ames-mortes-de-wang-bing-seance-speciale\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannes 2018 Jour 2 : Les Ames mortes de Wang Bing (S\u00e9ance Sp\u00e9ciale)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00ab\u00a0Utiliser le pr\u00e9sent pour parler du pass\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, telle est l\u2019ambition d\u00e9clar\u00e9e des <em>Ames mortes<\/em> (<em>Dead Souls<\/em>), l&rsquo;essai documentaire monumental de Wang Bing qui s\u2019int\u00e8gre dans un travail de m\u00e9moire dont il est la somme, apr\u00e8s les remarquables <em>Fengming, chronique d\u2019une femme chinoise<\/em> (2007) et <em>Le Foss\u00e9<\/em> (2010, film de fiction), consacr\u00e9s au m\u00eame sujet historique, avec des moyens cin\u00e9matographiques diff\u00e9rents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>En 1957, le gouvernement chinois lance une campagne anti droitiers afin d\u2019\u00e9carter toute personne suspecte d\u2019opposition au pouvoir en place. Mao estime alors que les \u00e9l\u00e9ments r\u00e9actionnaires repr\u00e9sentent 5% de la population globale de la Chine. Les cadres du parti et les intellectuels sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00e9mettre des critiques envers le r\u00e9gime, puis condamn\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9\u00e9duqu\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb dans des camps de travail. Des purges syst\u00e9matiques sont organis\u00e9es.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Entre 550 000 et 1 300 000 personnes sont d\u00e9sign\u00e9es on ne conna\u00eetra jamais le chiffre exact.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>De 1957 \u00e0 1958, dans la province du Gansu, environ 3200 hommes et femmes d\u00e9sign\u00e9s comme \u00ab\u00a0ultra-droitiers\u00a0\u00bb sont envoy\u00e9s au camp de la ferme de Jiabiangou dans le d\u00e9sert de Gobi, pour \u00eatre r\u00e9\u00e9duqu\u00e9s par le travail. Cette ferme, o\u00f9 les conditions de d\u00e9tention sont inhumaines, est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 un camp de la mort o\u00f9 les prisonniers vont souffrir de famine, les survivants ne devant leur salut qu\u2019\u00e0 une chance miraculeuse ou au soutien de leur famille.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pendant douze ans, entre 2005 et 2017, Wang Bing a recueilli les t\u00e9moignages de survivants de ce camp, qui d\u00e9crivent les conditions de d\u00e9tention effroyables. Wang Bing croit en la puissance \u00e9vocatrice de la parole, et le film se transforme en litanie ininterrompue, un flot de mots qui extirpe de l\u2019oubli et de la disparition des milliers de victimes d\u2019une trag\u00e9die dont les traces ont \u00e9t\u00e9 minutieusement effac\u00e9es par le gouvernement chinois, m\u00eame si ces anciens prisonniers ont presque tous \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9habilit\u00e9s apr\u00e8s la mort de Mao. Historien et m\u00e9morialiste, Wang Bing construit un tombeau pour ces \u00e2mes errantes priv\u00e9es de s\u00e9pulture. Les mots ne suffisent pas, il faut aussi retrouver et filmer les derniers vestiges de ces milliers de morts, des ossements humains enfouis \u00e0 fleur de d\u00e9sert, que la cam\u00e9ra de Wang Bing saisit frontalement. Il fallait cette dur\u00e9e fleuve pour conserver la parole d\u2019hommes et de femmes dont les vies ont \u00e9t\u00e9 boulevers\u00e9es \u00e0 tout jamais, chercher \u00e0 comprendre les m\u00e9canismes de l\u2019horreur, et rendre hommage \u00e0 leurs compagnons qui n\u2019ont pas surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 cette \u00e9preuve.
