{"id":15249,"date":"2015-04-03T15:28:59","date_gmt":"2015-04-03T14:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/?p=15249"},"modified":"2015-04-03T15:28:59","modified_gmt":"2015-04-03T14:28:59","slug":"gallipoli-de-peter-weir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/2015\/04\/03\/gallipoli-de-peter-weir\/","title":{"rendered":"Gallipoli de Peter Weir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARTE diffuse mercredi 8 avril \u00e0 20h50 <em>Gallipoli<\/em> (1981) de Peter Weir.<\/p>\n<p>Ce tr\u00e8s beau film figure au panth\u00e9on des meilleurs titres du cin\u00e9ma australien. <em>Gallipoli<\/em> raconte l\u2019une des pages les plus tragiques de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale, \u00e0 savoir la bataille des Dardanelles qui opposa l\u2019Empire Ottoman aux soldats britanniques et fran\u00e7ais dans la p\u00e9ninsule de Gallipoli dans l\u2019actuelle Turquie du 25 avril 1915 au 9 janvier 1916. Un d\u00e9barquement alli\u00e9 \u00e9choua et s\u2019enlisa dans une guerre de tranch\u00e9es, tandis que des erreurs strat\u00e9giques des alli\u00e9es conduisirent \u00e0 des pertes humaines consid\u00e9rables et \u00e0 une victoire \u00e9crasante de l\u2019arm\u00e9e turque. Des troupes australiennes et n\u00e9o-z\u00e9landaises stationn\u00e9es en Egypte o\u00f9 elles s\u2019entra\u00eenaient en pr\u00e9vision d\u2019un d\u00e9ploiement en France rejoignirent les Anglais pour combattre \u00e0 Gallipoli. La participation d\u2019unit\u00e9s de volontaires australiens et n\u00e9o-z\u00e9landais \u2013 d\u00e9sign\u00e9es sous le nom de ANZAC \u2013 \u00e0 la campagne des Dardanelles va devenir un \u00e9l\u00e9ment fondateur de l\u2019unit\u00e9 nationale de ces deux pays.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15251\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15251\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/files\/2-1hrnjse.jpg\" alt=\"Mel Gibson dans Gallipoli\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/files\/2-1hrnjse.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/files\/2-1hrnjse-498x280.jpg 498w, https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/files\/2-1hrnjse-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.arte.tv\/sites\/olivierpere\/files\/2-1hrnjse-580x326.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15251\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mel Gibson dans Gallipoli<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Peter Weir s\u2019attaque donc \u00e0 une date historique majeure de l\u2019Australie, et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie de moyens consid\u00e9rables pour reconstituer la bataille de Gallipoli, apr\u00e8s trois longs m\u00e9trages remarquables qui flirtaient avec le fantastique \u2013 <em>Les voitures qui ont mang\u00e9 Paris<\/em>, <em>Pique-nique \u00e0 Hanging Rock<\/em>, <em>La Derni\u00e8re Vague<\/em> \u2013 titres embl\u00e9matiques du nouveau cin\u00e9ma australien des ann\u00e9es 70. Il y a beaucoup de lyrisme dans la mise en sc\u00e8ne de Weir, avec une glorification de la beaut\u00e9 sauvage des paysages d\u00e9sertiques de l\u2019outback australien \u2013 dans la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 de <em>Gallipoli<\/em> \u2013 commune \u00e0 ses trois films pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019ampleur de cette fresque militaire et la beaut\u00e9 des prises de vue Weir ne sacrifie pas au grand spectacle et aborde son sujet \u00e0 travers l\u2019amiti\u00e9 entre deux jeunes Australiens, Archy (Mark Lee) et Frank (Mel Gibson, juste apr\u00e8s sa d\u00e9couverte dans <em>Mad Max<\/em> de George Miller) engag\u00e9s par go\u00fbt de l\u2019aventure et des voyages, unis par une passion commune pour le \u00ab\u00a0sprint\u00a0\u00bb \u2013 ils se sont rencontr\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019une comp\u00e9tition locale. Courir le plus vite possible, c\u2019est d\u2019abord vouloir fuir l\u2019isolement et la pesanteur d\u2019un pays qui ne laisse gu\u00e8re de place au r\u00eave et \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9vasion. Mais cela ne permettra pas aux jeunes h\u00e9ros d\u2019\u00e9chapper \u00e0 leur destin sur le champ de bataille. La boucherie de Gallipoli marquera la fin de l\u2019innocence de toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, mais aussi de l\u2019Australie entr\u00e9e de plein fouet dans la tourmente du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p>Par ses th\u00e8mes et son style visuel <em>Gallipoli<\/em> confirme l\u2019influence qu\u2019a pu exercer l\u2019\u0153uvre de Stanley Kubrick sur le jeune Peter Weir, qui s\u2019inspire des <em>Sentiers de la gloire<\/em> pour montrer l\u2019horreur de la guerre de tranch\u00e9es, les massacres inutiles de soldats sacrifi\u00e9s \u00e0 des ordres absurdes, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la reprise des fameux travellings arri\u00e8re du cin\u00e9aste am\u00e9ricain.<\/p>\n<p>Weir d\u00e9passe la port\u00e9e historique de son film pour l\u2019\u00e9largir \u00e0 un message pacifiste qui fait \u00e9cho au g\u00e2chis de la guerre du Vietnam. L\u2019arr\u00eat sur image final de <em>Gallipoli<\/em> \u00e9voque ainsi le poster \u00ab\u00a0Why?\u00a0\u00bb popularis\u00e9 par les opposants au conflit vietnamien.<\/p>\n<p>Weir comme Kubrick accorde une attention particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 la bande originale de son film, dans laquelle se t\u00e9lescopent des airs de Johann Strauss et de Bizet, l\u2019Adagio en G Mineur de Tomaso Albinoni et \u2013 plus surprenant \u2013 un extrait \u00e9lectronique de <em>Oxig\u00e8ne<\/em> de Jean-Michel Jarre pour accompagner les sc\u00e8nes de course qui scandent <em>Gallipoli<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ARTE diffuse mercredi 8 avril \u00e0 20h50 Gallipoli (1981) de Peter Weir.
