Tous les paradoxes, le go\u00fbt de l\u2019inattendu et de la surprise \u2013 pour lui et le spectateur \u2013 de Resnais sont l\u00e0\u00a0: le r\u00e9alisateur phare de la modernit\u00e9 adapte une pi\u00e8ce de boulevard des ann\u00e9es 20, \u00e9crite par un auteur \u00e0 succ\u00e8s longtemps jug\u00e9 d\u00e9mod\u00e9, Henry Bernstein. M\u00e9pris\u00e9 par les intellectuels et les \u00e9lites th\u00e9\u00e2trales \u00e0 cause de son succ\u00e8s, attaqu\u00e9 par la presse antis\u00e9mite et nationaliste, Bernstein \u00e9tait en revanche d\u00e9fendu par Andr\u00e9 Breton, pour ses pi\u00e8ces mais aussi parce qu\u2019il avait d\u00e9sert\u00e9 durant son service militaire. Resnais adolescent dans les ann\u00e9es 30 a souvent puis\u00e9 dans ses souvenirs de lecture de jeunesse les sujets de ses films, et l\u2019influence du surr\u00e9alisme se ressent dans toute son \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n<p>Salu\u00e9 pour son formalisme et ses effets de montage, Resnais r\u00e9alise au contraire avec <i>M\u00e9lo<\/i> un film minimaliste, respectueux d\u2019une sc\u00e9nographie th\u00e9\u00e2trale \u2013 d\u00e9cors stylis\u00e9s, histoire centr\u00e9e autour de trois personnages, le mari, la femme, l\u2019amant \u2013 qui privil\u00e9gie les dialogues et les longs plans. Pourtant ce classicisme de fa\u00e7ade, repr\u00e9sentatif de la folle diversit\u00e9 des films de Resnais, ne signifie en rien que Resnais s\u2019abandonne aux facilit\u00e9s d\u2019un cin\u00e9ma conventionnel, et dissimule une richesse th\u00e9matique aussi subtile et profonde que dans des longs m\u00e9trages plus monumentaux et c\u00e9r\u00e9braux comme <i>L\u2019Ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re \u00e0 Marienbad<\/i> ou <i>Providence<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Filmer la parole est dans <i>M\u00e9lo<\/i> le principal d\u00e9fi que se lance \u00e0 lui-m\u00eame Resnais, grand admirateur de Guitry. Le cin\u00e9aste y parvient avec maestria, aid\u00e9 par des com\u00e9diens \u00e9blouissants, qui redonnent vie aux dialogues dat\u00e9s mais po\u00e9tiques de Bernstein. Le long monologue d\u2019Andr\u00e9 Dussollier, enregistr\u00e9 en gros plan par la cam\u00e9ra de Resnais, parvient \u00e0 faire ressurgir un \u00e9v\u00e9nement pass\u00e9 par la seule force \u00e9vocatrice des mots. La m\u00e9moire, mais aussi la maladie, la mort, grands sujets de Resnais, traversent un film d\u2019une \u00e9l\u00e9gance et d\u2019une richesse exceptionnelles, qui transcende son sujet central, l\u2019adult\u00e8re, le couple et la passion amoureuse pour parler d\u2019\u00eatres humaines enferm\u00e9s dans des conditions confortables en apparence mais qui les font souffrir, en qu\u00eate de libert\u00e9 impossible, tent\u00e9s par la fugue, trouvant refuge dans l\u2019art ou l\u2019exercice de leur travail (ici c\u2019est la m\u00eame chose, la musique.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dans le cadre de son hommage \u00e0 Alain Resnais, disparu le 1er mars, ARTE diffuse ce soir M\u00e9lo (1986) \u00e0\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":116,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[8],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.8 -
