Freelance Journalist: English-speaking presenter
The European weekly web news programme ARTE Europe Weekly is presented in English, Spanish, French and German. Each week, the programme looks at a major European issue and provides insights tailored to the audience in each country.
Your duties
- Present the European web news programme and its social media version in English.
- Adapt the presentation for an English-speaking audience in Europe and work with the other programme presenters to ensure consistency and accuracy
Your strengths
- You know how to present news topics for the web and are at ease in front of the camera.
- You are passionate about current affairs and have a thorough knowledge of European and international issues.
- You are familiar with web-only formats and/or are interested in discovering new formats.
- You are an enthusiastic, flexible team player who helps to build a positive, cooperative environment.
Your profile
- Extensive experience in journalism and presenting.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, and very good knowledge of at least one of ARTE’s two languages (German and French).
- Very good knowledge of European and international politics.
- Professional experience in the field of audiovisual and web news.
- Practical experience of the new formats (YouTube videos/social media).
