A graduate of ENA and HEC, Frédéric Béreyziat began his career in 2001 at the Conseil d’État, where he worked as a legal adviser, notably for the Media Development Department reporting directly to the Prime Minister. From 2005 to 2009, he was successively Counsellor at the French Embassy in Greece and then Deputy Head of the North Africa and Middle East Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 2009 and 2015, he worked at the CNC as Director of European and International Affairs before joining Unifrance as Deputy Director General until 2019. In 2018, he was also one of the rapporteurs of the parliamentary taskforce preparing the legal and financial groundwork for the future National Music Centre. From April 2019 until his arrival at ARTE France, he was Deputy General Manager of the Cinémathèque française.
