Decision-making bodies of ARTE France

The Executive Board

The Executive Board is appointed for a five-year term of office. It is the collegial management and representative body for ARTE France. The Executive Board runs the company. In this capacity, it has the broadest authority to act in the name of the company under all circumstances, within the limits of the company’s purpose, and subject to the authority expressly assigned by law to the Supervisory Board and to the General Assembly of Shareholders. The President of the Executive Board represent the company in its relations with third parties.

 

The Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board is currently composed of twelve members, including one representative of the French State and three representatives elected by employees. It convenes at least four times a year. It is a collegiate body that deliberates before decisions regarding the major strategic and economic directions of ARTE France are implemented. The Supervisory Board appoints the members of the ARTE France’s Executive Board. It monitors the Executive Board’s management of ARTE France.

 

The General Assembly

The General Assembly of Shareholders appoints the members of the Supervisory Board, designates the auditors, approves or rejects the company accounts, and amends the statutes, etc. It represents the shareholders and is composed of four legal entities and three individuals. It convenes at least once a year.
