Handel: Il Trionfo del Tempo e del DisingannoEaster Festival Baden-Baden 2023
In search of inspiration, Georg Friedrich Handel travelled to Italy in 1706. A year later, he completed his first oratorio. A true masterpiece, "Il Trionfo" is an allegory describing the inner conflict that tugs at Beauty ("Belleza"): Who to choose between Pleasure ("Piacere"), Time ("Tempo") and Disillusion ("Disinganno")?
The Berlin Philharmonic is conducted by baroque music specialist Emmanuelle Haïm.
