Aral See - Where Has the Water Gone? From Steppes to Prairies

52 min

Available until 30/05/2025

In just a few decades, the vast Aral Sea has almost entirely dried up. In this second episode, writer and traveller Cédric Gras follows the course of the Syr Darya River which feeds the still existing Aral Sea. There is hope that its water volume will increase. However, upstream, the use of waters on the Syr Darya remains a tense subject between the countries that control its sources.
