Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra

The answer to violence is culture. The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra brings together Ukrainian musicians, some of whom are refugees, others members of European orchestras. ARTE broadcasts the world premiere of the orchestra live from Warsaw. On the programme: Valentin Silvestrov, Frédéric Chopin and Johannes Brahms.

The 40th edition of the MUSICA international contemporary music festival in Strasbourg honoured the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho. For the occasion, the group Tres Coyotes, made up of her lifelong friends, composer Magnus Lindberg and cellist Anssi Karttunen, came together for a concert of improvised music with the legend John Paul Jones, bassist of the group Led Zeppelin.
