Franz FerdinandEchoes with Jehnny Beth

Franz Ferdinand celebrates the release of their best of album, Hits to the Head, on Echoes with Jehnny Beth!

Scottish band Franz Ferdinand was formed in the early 2000s when Robert Hardy moved to Glasgow and met Alex Kapranos. The two started to make music together, teamed up with two other musicians and decided on a name in reference to the Archduke of Austria Franz Ferdinand.

Franz Ferdinand released their first EP in 2003, but it was only a year later that they made pop history: their debut album, with the hit single 'Take Me Out', reached number three in the UK album charts, won a Mercury Music Prize and catapulted them into the international spotlight.

In just over two decades, Franz Ferdinand have released six albums, from their self-titled opus in 2005 to Always Ascending in 2018, including a collaboration with Sparks in 2015. Each of these releases contains its own set of unstoppable hits. Alex Kapranos' band has compiled the best of Franz Ferdinand in Hits to the Head, a best of album that they will perform live in front of Echoes with Jehnny Beth!
