My LandUkrainian Artists on Art and War

In 2018, contemporary circus company Recirquel embarked on a European tour with a striking show, My Land, created and performed by seven young Ukrainian performers. In a succession of tableaux imbued mixing dance, acrobatics and juggling, the artists deliver a powerful reflection on their relationship with their native land. But the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, when they were on tour in France, gave their work new meaning. ARTE meets the performers of this remarkable show about one’s homeland and sense of belonging.
