Since 2020, Cuba has deployed 3,000 medical professionals to 42 countries including Mexico, Andorra, South Africa, Italy, Kuwait and France. This policy of cooperation has been one of the strengths of Cuban diplomacy for over 50 years. The fees charged for this support is a massive money-maker for Havana: some $10 billion in 2019, according to the World Trade Organisation.
