Scrubbers
Two young women escape a sinister 1970s reform school for girls in England. One in search for her daughter, the other to be reunited with her girlfriend. With her film "Scrubbers", Swedish director Mai Zetterling brings us a feminist interpretation of the women’s prison genre. Casting aside the voyeurism and violence often associated with the genre, Zetterling breaks the mould.
