Community, solidarity and a better world through art: these were the watchwords of documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany. But shortly after the opening of the 2022 edition, this modern and contemporary art festival caused a scandal. The festival had given pride of place to a huge racist canvas by Taring Padi, an Indonesian collective.
