The famous Doomsday Clock of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has been set to 90 seconds to midnight since February 24, 2023, the closest it has ever been to human extinction. The clock is only an allegory and does not give an exact date for the end. In the past, mathematicians used biblical verses to calculate precise dates for the apocalypse. Today, we face environmental destruction, wars, and climate catastrophe. We also know full well that civilisations can, and have, collapsed throughout history.
