Does nature have any legal rights - and if so, can they be enforced in court? Humans are causing the mass extinctions of species. Shouldn't animals, plants, rivers and ecosystems be able to defend themselves from that onslaught? This is already possible in Ecuador, the first country in the world whose constitution grants nature its own legal rights.
