Infamous drug baron Pablo Escobar had four hippos flown over from Africa to populate his very own zoo on his private estate in Columbia. After his death in 1993, the hippos escaped and have been colonising local waterways ever since. Conservationists are now waging a war against this invasive species which is harmful to the local ecosystem and highly dangerous to humans.

Because the sacks of harvested tea leaves are large and heavy, the tea pickers use cobbled-together cable cars to carry the harvest up or down the hill to the road. 16 people have died in cable car accidents over the past decade, but hundreds more have lost limbs. One engineer is calling for standardised, safe infrastructure to be set up - but politicians don't seem interested.
