The camel patrol scour the desert for terrorists. The Mauritanian army camels have a strategic advantage over off-road vehicles: they don't make noise like jeeps and, above all, they don't stir up dust that could be seen for miles by jihadists. The camel unit helps protect people and solar power projects based in this arid land, to make Mauritania safer for all.
