After four days of competition, things are getting serious: The jury of the Prix de Lausanne will select around twenty candidates to go through to the final in a day of drama and emotion for the young dancers.
To impress the jury, candidates must choose a classical variation from the judges’ selection (Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote). As for contemporary variations, the choice is between five contemporary choreographers: Kinsun Chan, Cathy Marston, Goyo Montero, Heinz Spoerli and Richard Wherlock.
Younger dancers will compete in the morning whereas senior dancers will try to impress the judges in the afternoon. Each group will perform classical first followed by contemporary.
Before the finalists are announced Yannick Boquin will lead a special class for the occasion, so get your ballet shoes ready!
