Ambre was pregnant with her first child, but she developed complications and her medical appointments kept being cancelled. She had one scheduled for 24th April. She died 21st April. Her partner says that while black men in America die on the streets, black women are being left to die in hospitals: if Ambre had been white, she might have had the medical attention she needed.
