The end of Credit Suisse

Swiss banks are known for being prudent and reliable, especially in turbulent times. 15 years after being rescued, it was UBS’s turn to save its competitor Crédit Suisse. So in March 2023, UBS bought Crédit Suisse. But what led to this situation? Why was the sale the only way out?
