The European patient - The European Collection
The Life of a Young Person in Psychiatric Care
They are between 18 and 30 years old and have been struck down in their youth by mental illness. They are schizophrenic, bipolar, or they have experienced the nightmare of depression. They are being cared for in a psychiatric day hospital in Lausanne, where they are trying to rebuild their lives in the hope of getting back on track. They talk bravely to the camera of their faith in the future, despite their illness.
This programme by Swiss channel RTS is part of The European Collection, a joint initiative of European public media (ARD, ARTE, France Télévisions, SSR SRG and ZDF), coordinated by ARTE.
