Documentary filmmaker Heidi Specogna paints a sensitive picture of a young woman whose story reflects the trauma of an entire country.

These contributions from the 3sat documentary series “Girls’ Stories” portray the lives of 17-year-old girls from different countries around the world. They are directed exclusively by women, most of whom come from the girls’ countries of origin. The “girls’ stories” therefore represent not only the different way of life experienced by the young women, but also the different documentary narratives of international female directors.
