Should the rich give away more?

Is there a point beyond which financial wealth becomes indecent? When one reaches a moral obligation to give, to donate, to do good?

In summer 2020, in the depths of the Covid-19 crisis, 83 millionaires signed a letter calling on the governments of various countries to tax the super-rich more to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. One of them, a German millionaire heiress, says: "I have more than enough. Why shouldn't I give more?” Meanwhile Michael Horbach, a self-made millionaire from Aachen, has sold his company and no longer works for money. A fairer world is possible, he says, and the reintroduction of wealth tax would be a start.
