Christine Hug is the first transgender high-ranking member of the Swiss armed forces, something that would have been unthinkable just a decade ago. Lieutenant Colonel Hug invites us into her world, telling us about the path that led her where she is today. Alhough transgender people are more visible in society today, even in institutions like the army, this is a journey that often remains painful and difficult for both them and the people around them.

Claudia Graf's father Arnold always wanted a son to succeed him at the family brewery. Now 33-year-old Claudia wants to prove to him that she can do just as good a job. Her employees – of which there are 60 – say she's stricter than their old boss, her dad.

Cornelia Marending is head of sales at a supermarket chain, where she manages more than 5,000 people. A mother of two, her husband stays home with the kids so Cornelia can focus on her career.

Nadine Caprez – a manager, board member and mother of three – can only dream of such a set-up. Her husband originally promised to work part-time once the couple had children, but so far this hasn't happened. So Nadine juggles everyday life as a housewife and manager of two companies, but still finds the time to help other women progress professionally.
