During apartheid, black people in more than groups of three could be arrested by police. But that didn’t stop the Bboys of Cape Town, who developed their own version of breakdancing. Emile and Tanswell Jansen founded the group Black Noise, hip-hop group the poster-child of the youth of South African of the Mandela era.

Bboy Lilou is a double world champion: first he won the BC One in 2005 for France, and then 2009 he won it for Algeria, in homage to his two cultures. After winning and judging at top international competitions, he now travels across Africa to promote breakdance and mentor fresh talent.

The action you are about to witness has the particular misfortune of containing images that, charged with violence, seem to be the cruel likeness of our near reality.
I imagined this work over a year ago.
No one could have foreseen this painful overlapping of art and reality, which today seems like an atrocious prophecy.
How to support today the unconscious exactness of these images on the stage?
But what to do in the face of the irretrievable that theatre represents?
It is essential to accept the pain produced by this concordance, in the light that Gustav Mahler’s Resurrection can represent.
