At the heart of the stunning archipelago of Hawaii lies the islands of Maui and Molokai. Maui is very popular with surfers: Archie Kalepa has been enjoying the big waves there for many years. The island's music and dance are also very famous. The second island, Molokai, is much quieter: with a single hotel, it has been protected from tourism.

The island of Hawaii, also called "Big Island", is the largest of the archipelago of the same name. It is home to the very active Kilauea volcano. Around the crater, a few rare walkers enjoy the grandiose landscapes, like the New Yorker Jade Chen.
