Founded in 1992 by a Li Hongzia Chinese civil servant, Falun Gong is a popular spiritual practice combining exercises and moral philosophy. So popular that the Chinese Communist Party felt sufficiently threatened by it and banned the practice causing the first major protests against the government since Tiananman square.
