Here we meet the architect Konrad Buhagiar who played a major role in the capital’s revival. But the island nation also has a dark side: the refugee crisis has resulted in many drowned at sea trying to reach Malta, the gateway to Europe.</p>

Israel

Andalusia is revealed in all its splendour. After an introduction to flamenco with the dancer Anabel Veloso, we visit the Alhambra in Granada, an architectural marvel testifying to the Arab influence that has long marked the region. In Tarifa, photographer José Luis Terrado records the living and working conditions of refugees, which contrast with the superb villas of the region.

In the village of Kouses, Sineb visits the spice shop of Yannis Giannoutsos, who cultivates his own aromatic garden. Before leaving for Archanes to learn sirtaki, the famous Cretan dance, the journalist visits the site of an experimental scientific project to combat drought.
